Our bottle is crystal-clear, ultra-durable Tritan, which has been tested extensively for resistance to physical degradation and chemical leaching, even at high temperatures. Our secure formula pod and collar are made of BPA-free polypropylene. The Shimi nipple is food-grade silicone, free of BPA, PVC and phthalates.

Yes, the Shimi bottle, pod, collar and nipple can be washed on the top rack of the dishwasher. All parts of the Shimi system are microwave safe. However, prepared feeding bottles should not be heated in the microwave due to the risk of uneven heating and potentially harmful hot spots.

Keeping your Shimi clean is simple. The wide neck allows for easy washing and drying, with no hard-to-reach crevices.

Before first use, disassemble all parts and wash thoroughly. For everyday cleaning, place Shimi on the top rack of the dishwasher, or hand wash in warm, soapy water and allow to dry completely.

For occasional sterilization, use a microwave or electric steam sterilizer, or boil the disassembled components for no more than 3 to 5 minutes. Let parts cool fully before reassembling.

To preserve fit and performance, reserve sterilization for occasional use and avoid prolonged or repeated high heat. Inspect components regularly and replace any that show cracks, cloudiness, or warping.

Shimi is compatible with most sterilizers and may fit in some bottle warmers. However,  we can’t guarantee that Shimi is compatible with all bottle warmers.

Absolutely! Even though Shimi is the best bottle for formula fed babies, it works great for breast milk, too. Use it with breastmilk just as you would a traditional baby bottle.

Depending on use and care, the Shimi system, like all baby bottles, should be replaced about every six months.
